L'arte della velocità su misura

The "haute couture" interpretation of the Performance vocation, forged in our Fano atelier.

Grand Soleil PLUS 72: the art of bespoke speed

The Grand Soleil 72 Plus is not simply a flagship; it is a manifesto of the Performance vocation. It is the purest interpretation of the Plus philosophy, where the constructive excellence of the Fano atelier meets the vision of an owner who desires the intoxicating sensation of speed. This is not a production yacht, but an 'haute couture' work conceived for a client who demands dynamism, responsiveness and control. The project is born from a dialogue: how to translate the desire for pure performance into a 72-foot superyacht? The answer lies in the construction, entirely customised. The extensive use of carbon, infusion lamination and a structural engineering obsessed with lightness and rigidity create a hull that lives, that breathes the wind. It is the synthesis of "The Art of Elegant Speed": a sartorial fast cruiser with the soul of a pure racer, capable of translating every gust into instant acceleration and offering a helm sensitivity that creates a total connection between man and sea. Luxury and performance are no longer in opposition: luxury here is functional, light, discreet, at the service of the pleasure of sailing.

It is not built for an owner. It is built around their vocation. It is a dialogue between our mastery and their desire for speed. Every carbon fibre, every waterline is the answer to a single question: how to make it faster, more responsive, more alive?

Exterior: Waterlines born for speed

The aesthetics of performance: hydrodynamic power and aggressive design.

The exterior lines of the Grand Soleil 72 Plus are the direct consequence of its Performance vocation. There is no room for the superfluous; every element is sculpted for hydrodynamic efficiency and power. This design, signed by Matteo Polli, is an obsession with speed. The hull is optimised through advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses to excel across a wide range of points of sail, guaranteeing a minimum wetted surface and a bow V capable of cutting through the wave with surgical precision. The result is burning acceleration and minimum resistance. But the true performance soul lies in the construction, engineered by Marco Lostuzzi. The Fano atelier uses a vacuum infusion process with epoxy resin and hybrid glass-carbon fabrics. The structural elements and areas of maximum stress are built entirely in unidirectional carbon. This is not merely a construction choice, it is a declaration: the pursuit of absolute torsional rigidity and lightness. For the owner, this translates into an intoxicating sensation: a yacht that responds to the helm with the immediacy of a dinghy, total control even at high speeds and the pure pleasure of sailing a work of art engineered to win.

Deck: A bridge for total control

The deck of the Grand Soleil 72 Plus, designed by Nauta Design, is a masterpiece of 'haute couture' ergonomics, conceived to interpret the Performance vocation. The flush deck layout is not merely an aesthetic conceit, but a functional necessity for rapid and safe movement. The organisation of spaces is sartorial: the guest area, with its generous protected saloon, is clearly separated from the helm station, which becomes an absolute control centre. Here, everything is designed for high-performance sailing. The twin helms offer perfect visibility over the sails and the wave, while the 'Race' arrangement of the winches, all within the helmsman's reach, allows total control even with a reduced crew. Every line is led back and optimised to reduce friction and maximise responsiveness. The choice of a self-tacking jib as standard is functional for fast cruising, but the enhanced sail plan and the structural bowsprit are ready to carry racing sails to unleash the true potential of the hull. It is the perfect balance between the adrenaline of sporty sailing and the management of a superyacht.

Interiors: The discreet luxury of lightness

Functional elegance and premium materials, optimised to not compromise performance.

Below deck, the Grand Soleil 72 Plus interprets the Performance vocation through the concept of "light luxury". The interiors, curated by Nauta Design, reflect the sartorial approach of the Fano atelier: every element is customised, but with a maniacal attention to weight containment. Luxury is not ostentation, but functional elegance, premium materials and natural light. The optional layout with a lateral galley aft, designed for this vocation, maximises the volume of the central saloon, creating a bright open-plan space connected to the cockpit, while also optimising weight distribution. The true 'in-house' excellence lies in what cannot be seen: the bulkheads and furniture are built in lightweight composites and sandwich materials, guaranteeing structural rigidity without adding to the displacement. For the owner, this means enjoying superyacht comfort and 'haute couture' finishes — precious woods, leathers and exclusive fabrics — knowing that none of this is compromising the responsiveness and speed of the boat. It is the perfect balance between the pleasure of living on board and the thrill of pure sailing.

Key Features: The distinctive elements of the Performance vocation

C.O.R.E. optimised hull

C.O.R.E. optimised hull

The hull forms, signed by Matteo Polli, are the result of advanced CFD optimisation (C.O.R.E.) for a pronounced bow V and a reduced wetted surface. A design that guarantees superior performance and an impeccable passage over the wave.
'Light-Tech' carbon construction

'Light-Tech' carbon construction

Hull in epoxy infusion with hybrid fabrics and unidirectional carbon structural reinforcements. An 'in-house' construction technology from Fano for maximum rigidity, lightness and a reactive helm response.
Deep-draft appendages

Deep-draft appendages

The inverted T-keel with a weldox blade and lead bulb optimises the centre of gravity. The performance draft (standard or telescopic) guarantees a high righting moment and superior upwind efficiency.
'Race-Oriented' deck layout

'Race-Oriented' deck layout

The twin helms are served by primary and secondary winches in an optimised position, allowing the helmsman total control of the lines. A helm station designed for high-performance sailing.
Enhanced sail plan

Enhanced sail plan

The deck-stepped mast (optionally in carbon) and the 9/10 rig support a generous sail plan. The structural bowsprit is designed for gennaker and Code 0, maximising power on downwind points of sail.
Lightweight composite interiors

Lightweight composite interiors

Furniture and bulkheads are built 'to measure' in sandwich and lightweight composite materials to guarantee luxury and comfort without penalising the final displacement, a must for the Performance vocation.
