INTENDED TO LAST OVER TIME

INTENDED TO LAST OVER TIME

NEW LIFE TO THE MYTH

Inspired by the lines of the Grand Soleil 52 originally designed by German Frers in 1987, this new addition marks the return of a legendary model. At the time, approximately sixty units were produced of a yacht described as “a masterpiece destined to last”. Prophetic words indeed: the new Grand Soleil 52 Performance, starting from the Cantiere del Pardo concept, was designed by the proven duo Matteo Polli and Nauta Design and takes up the elegance of its progenitor (starting with the Navy blue lines of the beautiful line) and the same harmony of shapes which, then as now, translates into stability and performance.

Intended for competent and passionate owners who do not want to compromise on comfort and performance, the Grand Soleil 52 is part of the successful Grand Soleil Performance line and is available in two versions, “Performance” and “Race”, to satisfy the needs of the more sporty customers and the needs of people who prefer fast cruising to regatta courses.

THE PERFORMANCE VERSION

The “Performance” version provides an “easy sailing” deck and sail plan with 4 aft winches, mainsail sheet with fixed point, self-tacking jib (std.) and carbon bowsprit (std.). The cockpit is perfectly usable by guests, thanks to the choice of recessing all rigging.

INTERIORS

Built entirely in sandwich plate with composite wood compartmentalisation bulkheads, the Grand Soleil 52 Performance has been studied down to the smallest detail to make the most of its space and offer living areas large for a yacht this size, without affecting the weight. The large dinette features the chart area in the bow, big storage compartments and an ergonomic and fully equipped C-shaped galley (with 3 fridge-freezers offering 172 litres of storage space), to ensure a pleasant stay on board even for long periods.
The interior layout includes three cabins and three bathrooms: the master cabin in the bow with a large bathroom and shower stall, the double cabin in the stern with a dedicated bathroom, and the vip double cabin (std.) with a bathroom, shower stall, and the possibility of direct access from the dinette. The vip cabin can also have twin beds (opt.).

Owners can choose among different essences, such as oak, grey oak or teak; in all cases, chromatic elegance is ensured by the contrasting floorboards.

THE RACE VERSION

The Race version of the Grand Soleil 52 is designed for owners seeking top-level performance and a strong racing attitude. Compared to the standard configuration, this setup features a deck optimized for competitive sailing, with six winches, longitudinal jib tracks, and a recessed mainsheet traveller with electric controls, seamlessly integrated into the cockpit to ensure efficiency and freedom of movement during maneuvers.

The bowsprit is extended by 90 cm compared to the standard version, allowing for more effective use of asymmetric sails or gennakers, especially downwind. Completing the Race configuration are textile lifelines, which are lighter and more efficient than traditional ones, and the option to equip the yacht with a carbon mast and boom, reducing overall weight and increasing rig stiffness — key elements for maximizing racing performance.
