Grand Soleil Yachts once again asserts itself at the top of the Italian Offshore Sailing Cruise Championship standings. This year in the 2022 edition, Grand Soleil 48 Race Athyris mastered the offshore regatta with great skills, leaving behind most of the competing Group 1 fleet in a short time.

Congratulations to owner Sergio Taccheo and his crew who distinguished themselves in this prestigious regatta of the Italian yachting scene by winning the trophy of Italian Offshore Sailing Champions Cruise 2022.

Stefano Cherin tactic of Anthyris GS 48 Race declares, “We are very satisfied with how we started this Championship both for the result and for the performance of our boat as well as for the great fellowship of the whole crew. Today we also had wind conditions on our side that benefited us with the decreasing Bora that slowed down most of the fleet and the verse of this Italian is still to be written.”

The regatta was held at the Yacht Club Monfalcone (Gorizia), 4 days of beautiful sea championship with sun and wind in the open air. Challenging regatta weather conditions were ideal for testing the participating crews and the different sailing setups of the racers. August 25, the first day of the regatta, started with light wind from the northeast and 12 knots that decreased in the last leg of the trial. Right towards the end of the race, the crew of Anthyris was indeed able to make the most out of Grand Soleil 48 Race’s specially designed and optimized core for the light wind conditions typical of the Mediterranean.
