MATTEO POLLI AND FRANCO CORAZZA RUNNING FOR THE INNOVATION CATEGORY OF THE SAILOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

Two members of the Grand Soleil team are contenders in the Innovation category of the 32nd edition of the Sailor of the Year awards, which is the most prestigious recognition in Italian sailing and organized by Giornale della Vela.
Franco Corazza, Grand Soleil’s project manager, holds the responsibility for developing the new Maxi range, which features boats over 60 feet. As one of the earliest athletes to fully commit to the sailing world in Chioggia, he unveiled the Grand Soleil 72 at the Cannes International Boat Show, a collaborative venture involving Nauta Design, Marco Lostuzzi, and Matteo Polli, who is also competing for the same prize.
Matteo Polli, specialized in sailing yacht optimization, research and development, performance prediction and analysis, as well as project management in yacht construction processes, plays a crucial role within the Grand Soleil team. He notably designed the new Grand Soleil 40 and Grand Soleil 72, the latter being his debut superyacht. Additionally, in 2022, his Grand Soleil 44 secured a consecutive victory at the ORC World Championship. Grand Soleil Yachts takes immense pride in their nomination in the Innovation category, as it strongly aligns with Cantiere del Pardo’s core values. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 15th and 16th. Best of luck to all the participants!
